Sam Salisbury

Hi! My Name is Sam, and I refuse to pick a lane.

I have an oddly varied background which spans archaeology, care work, biochemistry, and genomics. In my professional life, I am currently an NHS trainee clinical scientist in blood sciences. As part of this, I quite enjoy the quality and improvements aspects of the role (making sure we are getting things right, and then making them even better), and working towards improving accessibility and equity of service for our patients, particularly those in remote and rural communities. Having grown up in these communities, and now living in the Devon (where we have the most remote hospital in mainland England), this is a subject which is quite important to me.

I’m a lifelong learner, and am always looking to learn new skills, and develop my understanding of the world around me in any way I can.

Outside of work, I enjoy pursuing a quiet, peaceful life in Devon with my partner and two cats (Mushroom and Beanbag). I achieve this by walking and exploring our forests, moors, and coast; visiting garden centres; eating lots of food; playing lots of video games; and occasionally venturing to Bristol or London to see some really horrible, horrible music.
